Most questions you may have about our wedding can be answered below.

  • What should I wear to the the Sangeet?
    Many guests will be wearing colourful Indian attire; however, there is no expectation or rule that you must wear Indian clothing.   • What should I wear to the the Wedding / Reception?
    As our wedding will be following Hindu traditions, many guests will be wearing colourful Indian attire; however, there is no expectation or rule that you must wear Indian clothing.   • What kind of food will be served at the Sangeet?
    Aria Banquet & Convention Centre will be catering our event. We will be offering a South Asian Menu, served buffet style. The full menu will be vegetarian. Appetizers will be served beginning at 6pm, and dinner at 9pm.
  • Will alcohol be served at the sangeet?
    Alcohol will be served at the Sangeet. Please enjoy respectfully and responsibly. Please plan a safe ride home, or lean on available taxi resources in the area.
  • Will there be vegan food options?
    There will be a limited selection of vegan options available. We have asked the catering company to clearly label vegan items, and catering staff can answer questions if required.
  • What time should I arrive for the wedding ceremony?
    We recommend that you arrive between 9:15am and 10:30am. Please keep in mind that the ceremony will begin promptly at 11:00am so you will need to allow enough time arrive and find your seats. The Baraat, will arrive at 9:30am. Following the Baraat guests will be served tea and light breakfast until 10:45am.
  • Will the ceremony be indoors, or outdoors?
    Aria Banquet & Convention Centre is our venue, and our ceremony will be taking place indoors within the convention centre.
  • What is an unplugged ceremony?
    No phones or devices visible. We can’t wait to tie the knot in front of our favourite people! We hope that you can enjoy this special moment with us device-free, so please, no photos during the ceremony. We've hired an amazing wedding photographer who will be capturing every moment — and we're inviting each of you to sit back, relax, and just enjoy how the wedding feels. Of course we will be happy to share our wedding photos with you afterwards.
  • Do I need to cover my head for the ceremony?
    No, you will not be required to cover your head for the ceremony.
  • What is happening between the ceremony and reception?
    There will be a gap of approximately 3 to 4 hours between the ceremony and reception. We'll be using this time to ensure our photographer has enough time to capture everything, and to change our outfits for the evening. Don't worry, we'll be back and are just as excited to get the reception started as you are! Here are some fun activities that may make this gap more enjoyable for you: Take some photos since you are all dressed up! There are a number of great locations with beautiful scenery around, including: Pier Park in New Westminster, Stanley Park, White Rock Pier. Vancouver is a short drive away if you want to check out what the city has to offer. Take a look at our "Out Of Town" tab for some additional pinned locations worth seeing.
  • Will breakfast be served before the ceremony?
    Coffee, fresh juice and light breakfast will be served prior to the ceremony, after the arrival of the Baraat. This will be available from approximately 9:45am to 10:45am.
  • Will lunch be served after the ceremony?
    A variety of food will options will be served immediately following the ceremony, including soft drinks, pasta, salad and ice cream. This will be available from approximately 12:30-2:00.
  • What kind of food will be served at the reception?
    Aria Banquet & Convention Centre will be catering our event. We will be offering a South Asian Menu, served buffet style. There will be a select offering of meat dishes, but the majority of the menu will be vegetarian. Appetizers will be served beginning at 5:30pm, and dinner at 9pm.
  • Will alcohol be served at the reception?
    Alcohol will be served at the reception. Please enjoy respectfully and responsibly. Please plan a safe ride home, or lean on available taxi resources in the area.
  • What time should I arrive for the reception?
    Cocktail hour begins at 5:30pm, where appetizers will be served. Bride and Groom with arrive at 7:00pm so please arrive prior to their entrance.
  • Will there be vegan food options?
    There will be a limited selection of vegan options available. We have asked the catering company to clearly label vegan items, and catering staff can answer questions if required.
  • Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?
    Yes! We encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #kandbchadha so we can see all of your pictures! (Please keep in mind that we are having an unplugged ceremony with no devices out. No photos during the ceremony please!)
  • What will the weather be like?
    The average early October temperature in Surrey, BC is a daytime high between 9°C and 17°C. Of course, being the lower mainland there is always a chance it may rain. Please be sure to check the forecast closer to the event.
  • Is there parking available at the wedding venue?
    Aria Banquet & Convention Centre had ample space for parking.
  • What should I do if I can’t make it to your events?
    You will be missed! If you can not make it to the Sangeet /Wedding Ceremony / Reception, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP via email to kandbchadha@gmail.com so we can plan accordingly. Please be sure to specify which events you will not be attending.
  • Will seating be assigned at any of the events?
    Tables / seats will be reserved for immediate family. All other seating will be open, first come first serve.
